What are Effect and Methods of Inhibitors in Flotation Process?

In the flotation process, the effects of inhibitors are mainly:

1. A hydrophilic film is formed on the surface of the ore particles to achieve inhibition.

      Inhibitors can also form ion-adsorbing films on the surface of minerals to inhibit minerals. When the adsorption potential of a mineral surface with strong hydration ions is higher than that of collector ions, the minerals are inhibited by surface hydrophilic ions.


2. Hydrophobic film that dissolves mineral surface

In the separation and flotation of polymetallic sulphide mixed concentrates, a hydrophobic film of xanthate has been formed on the surface of the mineral to be separated. When cyanide is used as an inhibitor, it can react with polymetallic xanthates to replace the xanthate anions.flotation machine.jpg
