Lead flotation method

(1) Cyanide method - Cyanide is an effective inhibitor of pyrite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite, while it has almost no inhibitory effect on galena. Therefore, cyanide method is the main method to suppress copper for floating lead. The separation is better. The lead concentrate selected by this method contains less copper, zinc and pyrite and higher concentrate quality and recovery rate. The floatation machine can be used in the process.

The mechanism of cyanide inhibition of copper minerals, mainly because it can dissolve the surface of the copper minerals formed by the xanthate film, so that make its surface hydrophilic. And interact with the copper ions in the slurry to generate stable complex ions.

If there are secondary copper sulphide minerals in the ore, the cyanide inhibition is less effective. In this case, it should be used in combination with zinc sulphate (zinc sulphate with 7 crystal water is often used in triplicate for cyanide used), and then get hydrophilic Zn (CN) 2 colloids or the Complex K2zn (CN) 4, their inhibitory effect is more effective than both alone. Cyanide is toxic and can dissolve gold, silver and secondary copper sulphide minerals in the ore. Cyanide method is not suitable for handling ore with gold and silver ore. Cyanide is better to used in dealing with floated copper and lead concentrate. E.g. Some plants using dichromate method, but it is not easy to get qualified copper concentrate and lead concentrate. However using cyanide method, copper and lead mixed concentrate can be well separated.

(2) Zinc oxide - sodium cyanide method Zinc oxide and sodium cyanide by weight ratio of 1: 2, the reaction of soluble zinc oxide complexes, and then add ferric sulfate mixture can be effectively inhibited Bornite and arsenic tetrahedrite, but did not inhibit the chalcopyrite.
