How to extend the service life of the jaw crusher

In the daily use of the jaw crusher, wear is inevitable. How to reduce the wear can not only improve the production efficiency, but also improve the economic benefits. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out long-term maintain on the mandrel, eccentric shaft and bearing bush of the jaw crusher.


The working mode of the jaw crusher is a curved extrusion type. The working principle is:

the motor drives the belt and the pulley, and the moving plate moves up and down through the eccentric shaft. When the moving plate rises, the angle between the toggle and the moving plate becomes larger, thereby push the moving plate to approach the fixed jaw; meanwhile the material is crushed to achieve the purpose of crushing; when the moving plate moves downward, the angle between the toggle and the moving plate becomes smaller, the moving plate leaves the fixed jaw under actions of the pull rod and the spring, and then the broken material is discharged from the lower opening of the crushing chamber. As the motor rotates continuously, the moving plate moves periodically, crushing and discharging materials to achieve mass production.

First, if the shaft wears little, just to repair its geometry, it can be turned on a lathe to bring the journal to the correct geometry and then reduce the bearing inner diameter accordingly. However, after several such treatments, if the journal size is reduced by 5% compared to the original, will not allow to turning, and the new shaft should be replaced.fixed plate.jpg


 Second, the jaw crusher works under impact load, and the Babbitt lining on the bearing bush has a working period of about two years. If it exceeds the time limit, it needs to be recast. If the eccentric shaft and the bearing bush, the mandrel and the bearing bush are both worn, and the top clearance is greater than 1.5 times of the original assembly clearance, it needs to be adjusted or replaced; if the oil groove wears 1.5 mm, the oil groove should be re-opened and adjusted. The gap between the upper cover of the connecting rod head and the eccentric shaft, when worn to more than 1.5 times the assembly clearance, also needs to be adjusted or replaced with a new one. When the Babbitt alloy on the bearing shell has a deep peeling or a large abrasion, it should be recast.

The quality of the bearing bush after processing has the following requirements:

the surface of the babbitt alloy should be uniform, dull, silvery white;

the surface layer of the babbitt should not have ash, cracks, blisters, shrinkage holes, etc.
