The common mill drives the grinding medium by the movement of the cylinder. The power input by the stirred mill is directly used for the rotation of the stirred shaft, so that the grinding medium moves to pulverize the material; Therefore, its energy efficiency is higher than that of the common mill and the vibrating mill. Because of its high energy density, fine size, less environmental pollution, simple structure, convenient maintenance, etc., it is widely used in building materials, coatings, chemicals, medicine, food, pesticides, electronics, metallurgy, ceramics, pigments and other fields.


The stirred mill can be produced intermittently or continuously. According to the shape of the cylinder, it can be divided into a groove type, a ring type, a vertical type and so on. The grinding medium may be ceramic balls, zirconia beads, steel balls or natural sand. The stirring device may be a shaft rod type, a disc type, a perforated disc type, a vane type, a cylindrical type, a ring type, a spiral type or the like. It can work in both dry and wet ways.


For vertical stirred mills, the material can be fed from the upper part of the cylinder or from the lower part of the cylinder into the grinding chamber.


Working Principle

During working, the grinding medium rotates with the stirred shaft, including revolution and rotation. After the material is fed into the grinding chamber, it collides, squeezes and rubs with the grinding medium in the cylinder. The material is continuously and efficiently pulverized in the grinding chamber under the action of shearing force, pressing force and impact force.
